Celebrating 55 Years of Leadership: Ken Imlach Retires

Ken Imlach retires after 55 years with Imlach Group, leaving a legacy of leadership, growth, and excellence in the moving and relocation industry.

After 55 years with Imlach Group, Ken Imlach is officially retiring today, June 19, 2026.

This milestone marks the close of an extraordinary career defined by resilience, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to building something meaningful. Ken’s impact on Imlach Group—and the people who make up the organization—will be felt for generations to come.

From Challenge to Opportunity

Ken joined Imlach Group in 1972 during a very different time for the company. Facing significant financial and operational challenges, the business was at a critical crossroads.

In 1987, Ken made the pivotal decision to step off the road and into the office. Alongside his cousin Dan Imlach and brother Gregg Imlach, he helped lead the effort to stabilize and rebuild the company. Through determination, hard work, and clear vision, they transformed Imlach into the strong, respected organization it is today.

Building a Respected Industry Leader

Over the decades, Imlach Group has grown into a highly respected relocation company and a top Atlas Van Lines agent—achievements made possible by the collective dedication of an exceptional team.

While Ken served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for much of his career, his influence extended far beyond his title. He played a key role in driving growth, building partnerships, and shaping the company’s reputation in the industry.

A Legacy Defined by People

Ask Ken what he’s most proud of, and the answer isn’t a milestone—it’s the people.

From long-time managers who helped guide the company through both challenges and successes, to the customer service, dispatch, and accounting teams working tirelessly behind the scenes, to the drivers representing Imlach on the road each day—Ken has always believed that people are the foundation of the company’s success.

His leadership helped foster a culture built on professionalism, loyalty, and pride—values that continue to define Imlach Group today.

The Next Generation

As Ken steps away from day-to-day operations, he does so with confidence in the future of the company.

The next generation of leadership is already playing a key role in guiding Imlach forward while preserving its strong family foundation. His son, Grant, and daughter, Haley, are both actively leading the company into its next chapter—ensuring continuity while positioning the organization for continued growth.

A Well-Deserved New Chapter

While Ken is retiring from his daily responsibilities, he will remain connected to the business in an advisory role.

Looking ahead, he is focused on spending more time with his family—especially his granddaughter—and enjoying time between northern Michigan and Florida. After decades of hard work and dedication, this next chapter is a well-earned opportunity to focus on what matters most outside the business.

With Gratitude

Ken Imlach’s legacy is reflected not only in the success of Imlach Group, but in the relationships he built, the culture he helped create, and the people he inspired along the way.

On behalf of everyone at Imlach Group, we extend our sincere thanks to Ken for his leadership, his dedication, and the lasting impact he has made.

We wish him all the best in this next chapter.
